Greetings from Reform

At our National Assembly last October, the delegates sent greetings to our evangelical brothers and sister in Reform. Following the Reform Annual Conference, the Director received this message, which he now shares with the members of Forward in Faith:

This conference sends greetings to Forward in Faith. It pledges to continue to work with them and others to secure adequate structural provision for those in conscience unable to receive the consecration of women as bishops.

Subscriptions

If you are a member of Forward in Faith and you are reading this (the printed copy, rather than on-line), then your subscription is up to date! If you have failed to renew your subscription, you won’t be reading this (except on-line!), because we haven’t sent you January’s New Directions! Worthless information, of course, unless a friend or neighbour happens to let slip that they are surprised to see that you’ve received your New Directions, whilst they haven’t had theirs…….

The Forward in Faith Website

Mention of the fact that you can read New Directions on-line leads us straight on to the remarkable FiF Website at www.forwardinfaith.com and its indefatigable Webmaster, Fr Len Black. Last year, it averaged over 10,500 ‘hits’ each month, peaking during the month of June, at the time of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, with no less than 19,000 visitors! Each of these visitors accessed a number of pages, of course, and, during the course of the year, a total of some 565,000 pages on the Website were viewed!

Since Fr Black took over the maintenance of the site, it has had over half a million visitors who, between them, have looked at more than two million pages. It is the most extraordinary achievement and Forward in Faith members and supporters all over the world will want to thank Fr Black for all that he does for us in this regard.

Another Forward in Faith Website

Watch out on the Forward in Faith Homepage this month for the launch of the new Forward in Faith London site – an integral part of www.forwardinfaith.com. As soon as it appears, we will be able to launch similar sites for Forward in Faith Diocesan Branches around the world.

Although the website is set up by our Webmaster, it is designed to be easily edited and maintained by the local branch – no knowledge of HTML programming is necessary – just a broadband internet connection and everyday computer skills!

Dr Gill James, Secretary of Forward in Faith London who has been the person responsible for editing the information on the new FiF London website so far, and for ‘uploading’ the many photographs has told us that it is so easy to do. It’s as easy as using your favourite programme on your computer which you use to write letters and reports!

Any branch which would like to follow FiF London’s excellent example should make contact in the first instance with the Webmaster at

webmaster@forwardinfaith.com
