A reader writes to let us know of an event on Saturday 28th May. There will be a Requiem Mass for Henry, Seventh Duke of Newcastle at Clumber Chapel, near Worksop Nottinghamshire. The Seventh Duke was involved in building and restoring many fine Anglo-Catholic Churches and was a founder member of the League of Our Lady, a precursor to our own Society of Mary. The Mass will be offered at 12 noon and followed at 2.30pm by the Clumber Lecture ‘Anglo-Catholicism and the Poetic Mind’ given by our Secretary Fr Jonathan Baker.

Our Lady of Sheshan is pictured on page 5 of this edition. She holds aloft the Christ Child and is a reminder to us all that we are called to follow Mary and to show Christ to the waiting world. She also reminds us that we must pray for persecuted Christians around the world. ND
