Keeping up with Forward in Faith News online

Did you know that you can arrange to receive an email each time a new Breaking News story appears on the Forward in Faith Website? Apparently, less than 800 of you take advantage of this entirely free service. To be sure, New Directions will give you comment after the event, but, if you want to be up to the minute, the Breaking News Alert is what you need. Just go to subscriptions.html and follow the simple instructions.

Forward in Faith at the Lambeth Conference

Plans are afoot for a Forward in Faith presence in Canterbury during the Lambeth Conference, which commences in mid July. New Directions will of course have writers present to bring you all the comment and analysis and will be there to bring you news and comment as it happens.

Reading New Directions online

Did you know that, not only can you read New Directions online, you can also trawl its complete archive on the internet? Simply go to www. where you can either follow the link to read the current issue in PDF format, or follow a link to the website of Trushare, where you can browse all past articles from New Directions since the very first issue in June 1995; there is even a search engine to help you track down that elusive piece by whoever it might be.

Forward in Faith Parishes online

We are now able to design and host, at modest cost, parish websites for Forward in Faith Registered Parishes. If your parish isn’t yet on the world wide web, why not go to and see what our Webmaster is able to offer.

The first parish to sign up for their own website was S.John the Baptist, South Leamington – www.fifparish. com/home/stjohnleamington. Fr David Lawson, parish priest of S.Johns says, “The pages are so easy to change. All I have to do is go on-line with my special password and up comes a page as though it was the word processor I normally use. I then make the changes and click on ‘save’… it’s as easy as that.

Already several other parishes are planning their websites. If you’re interested, email the Webmaster at for further details.

And finally…

The Fifteenth Forward in Faith National Assembly will be held at the Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, London SW1 on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October, 2008. Book the date in your diaries now!
