Many of our recent contributors have been in the process of training for ordination to the diaconate and priesthood. We offer our prayers and best wishes to Christopher Trundle who was ordained by the Bishop of Edmonton on the 14th May (above right). In the coming months many more men will be preparing for their ordinations amongst them, to the diaconate, Richard Norman (Sunday 3rd July, Southwark Cathedral) and Graham Lunn (Sunday 3rd July, All Saints Reading). To the priesthood: Harri Williams (St Davids Cathedral, 25th June), Ian McCormack (St Peter’s Horbury, 29th June) and Michael Childs (St Margaret’s Swinton, 4th July). We offer all these men the assurance of our prayers.
Those of you keen on Association Football will note that our footballing wing AFC Wimbledon have, after nine years and mercifully not the Biblical forty, reclaimed their place in the Promised Land of the League beating Luton 4-3. Perhaps things are looking up?
If horse racing is more your style might we suggest placing a bet on one of Her Majesty the Queen’s most promising colts General Synod. The colt was sired by the stallion Invincible Spirit. There is a message in there somewhere. ND
